Bought this in Japan in January 2010.
Look! It's Pacman! This isa variation of chuukaman (δΈθ―γΎγ), a Chinese-style steamed bun that's known to Filipinos as siopao. Possibly the most popular type of chuukaman would be nikuman (θγΎγ, meat buns), which are filled with ground pork. In Japan, Yokohama's Chinatown is particularly known for their large, filling nikuman. Other types of chuukaman are anman (a steamed bun with azuki - red bean paste - in it) and kareman (curry bun).
In this case, this bun is called... Pacman! So, yeah, that's a pun - the bun has been colored to look like Pacman, and it's a Pacman bun! This bun had a sweet custard filling.
