Okay, basically, I’m talking about this because it reminds me of roleplay, when people choose to do events, and then choose to take the most difficult routes available through it despite the fact that other muses wouldn’t go through all this bullshit realistically. I notice sometimes when people get magic anons, they don’t do the obvious, and actually actively avoid it. Backlogging the blog with your name on it to find out what’s going on? Especially when you were immediately looking at it? God forbid. Not believing you’ve been sent through time, despite using a computer, and inventing things to interfere with being told, hey, hover your mouse over the time so you can see the date! Mildly annoying.

Hey I get you want to have fun doing your shit and being as complicated as possible, but it gets annoying with everything is complicated all the time and nothing ever goes smoothly. When things go smoothly, it makes time to explore things the event could provide, instead of dealing with freakouts constantly because the mun thinks that’s fun. It’s not fun! 

Hey this went from a comparison between the super cool movie i just watched and the RPC to me realizing how salty I am when my friend makes things complicated over minute details for no reason than because she can, and we can’t get to the fun stuff because she has extremely limited time to actually RP each day and she wants to spend it writing her character screaming.

Anyway I have like no followers, so I can post bullshit like this when I wanna get it off my chest.

and like i hate green pepper and onion on my pizza with a feiry passion i wouldnt go disrespecting literally millions of people over their choice of preferred taste id just get a different flavor

I guess I still do that, but I’m a roleplayer and I use roleplay blogs and still do the same thing, but ~in character~. And actually blog. But roleplaying.

I will unfollow you, block you, or post block if you, your content, or how you portray your character bothers me. If I’m getting irritable looking at your stuff, I don’t feel like I should have to look at it, and get rid of it. I’m not here to be irritated over nuances like incorrect quirks (There’s a difference between the character growing and changing their quirk and the mun hopping on the fandom bandwagon without reading a single one of their character’s pesterlogs in the last five years. John doesn’t use :B, Nepeta doesn’t say “mew”, and I’ve unfollowed blogs for just these things alone.

I tend to avoid bloodswaps, mostly because people don’t seem to know what the fuck they’re doing. If you wanted to play Sollux, you should have played Sollux, not dressed Terezi in red and blue and made her an awesome coder and gamer and basically erased everything about her that made her Terezi. A lot of people ignore character-specific interests and swap them when they swap castes, and I find it tacky and entirely uncreative. The worst offender for this is any jadeblooded swap being interested in fashion and a good tailor, I hate that lividly. That’s a Kanaya-specific interest and stated as unusual even for the caste. (Although Hiveswap seems to have debunked that despite the canon material.)

I will fight you, psionics and psychic ability are not the same thing. Psionics are a specific branch of psychic ability and an uncommon mutation in the yellowblooded caste, not even all psychic yellowbloods are psionic. (Hiveswap made it seem pretty damn common, but the source material says it’s a freakish mutation, which means it’s uncommon.) Psionic and psychic are not interchangeable terms. While I understand it’s defined differently outside of homestuck, it’s used in an extremely specific manner in-universe, which is basically the only definition that matters if you’re roleplaying in that universe.

Another one i will post-block for and have my character call out IC is when you use hive interchangeably with the word home. Trolls have the word home, and hive = house, which is a different word. House and home, in most situations, are not grammatically interchangeable with each other. Hive only means house, not both. It’s something that just really bothers me.

I will also unfollow and cease interaction/callout IC if you make your troll say gog, because that’s another example of not actually reading the source material. Jegus/Gog are an inside joke based off of typos that Dave made between him and Terezi, and Terezi spread Jegus to Vriska. That’s it.

I won’t tag dumb things like food or other things that people would interact with on a daily basis to survive and be people. I try to be good on triggers but if someone is triggered by my character existing then you should get off my blog instead of having me tag it.

I’m am empathetic writer, meaning that if my character is upset, then I’m upset. I can separate IC from OOC fine, I don’t have hard feelings towards anyone when shit goes down, but if my character is upset then so am I and I don’t like piling onto it without breaks or being prepared for it first because then I get really stressed out. I’ve blocked people who’ve antagonized my characters before out of nowhere, because I as the mun couldn’t deal with it and needed to separate myself from the anxiety trigger. That also has to do with me being triggered with bouts of aggression aimed at me or my muse without any prior warning. If my muse is crying, I probably am too. I’m really not upset at anyone when shit happens, but I can’t let things pile up all at once or I can’t keep writing.

I get pretty niche when I create a community of a couple players I interact with constantly, and then don’t reach out outside of those couple muses as long as they’re fulfilling the character’s social need. This is mostly my fault as an Asperger adult, but I may disappear off the dash while being active in discord and break any character interactions I might be having. I don’t do this intentionally, but I still sure do it. This doesn’t mean I’m not interested in you or anything, it just means I Suck.

I won’t roleplay with you or read your posts if you do that dumb tiny text thing. I’ve unfollowed people over that too. Listen, I already have to deal with tiny text I can’t read in tiny container boxes on most of your themes, don’t put text I can’t read on my dash. If I change Chrome/Firefox’s minimum size, it makes entire layouts fucky because text doesn’t fit anywhere. It’s inconvenient, and I came to the tumblr format to escape that tiny text bullshit on aesthetic posting templates for forums. I can’t read it. My eyes suck. And I know that I’m not the only one. I’m not going to force myself to tolerate someone who does something that bothers me, and I won’t interact.

pet peeves about bloodswaps

- maroons being dead. aradia was dead because sollux was manipulated into killing her, you’d be surprised to find that not every maroon-blooded troll hatches already dead as a ghost.

- i don’t actually have anything for browns because i never see it. maybe having wings when that’s a rufioh-specific mutation?

- yellows being red/blue themed, automatically having psionics, being rad coders and gamers, and/or having a duality theme. the last few things are sollux-specific, not caste-related. second of all, not all yellows are psionics, and psionics come in a wide variety of colors, not just red and blue. if you wanted to play sollux, then you should have just done that.

- olives using catpuns. that was a leijon thing, and furthering that, i see nepeta players all too often oversaturating their puns. nepeta... doesn’t pun a whole lot, nor obnoxiously. the troll you’re looking for is meulin.

- limes existing. there’s not enough of that, honestly? you’d think there would be but i rarely see lime bloodswaps hell i barely know any ocs. but also, karkat existing in this point in the color wheel instead of the front. because he’s a mutated lime. sorry folks, that’s canon confirmed.

- jades being fashionistas. this one is the absolute worst and usually gets an unfollow for a lack of creativity. that was a kanaya thing, and it was even stated that it was an unusual hobby even among jades. trolls don’t typically care much about fashion. swapping into a jade and suddenly having your troll have kanaya’s specific interest is... well, if you wanted to play kanaya, you should have.

- teals having red eyes. that was because terezi was blind, damage from being caught in a cycle of revenge. on the same topic of teals, having your teal be interested in law so intrinsically was a terezi thing too. like most teals are slated to become legislacerators, but the scalemates and mock trials and hangings were definitely a terezi thing. so is eating chalk and being fascinated with red. stoppit.

- ceruleans being associated with spiders and eight. the vision eightfold thing is a scorpio thing specifically, which is fine if you gave them vriska’s lusus and the scorpio sign instead. i don’t have much more to comment than this, maybe the mind control thing. that’s rare among highbloods.

- indigos.... you know i’ve never seen an indigo swap to have a peeve honestly.

- purples being clowns. this even applies to your ocs, just because you have a purple doesn’t mean you have to be a clown, ESPECIALLY considering the mirthful messiahs is a niche cult that was literally founded by lord english as being the messiah. ok yeah granted, all of the hiveswap released purples were clowns, but the text says this isn’t a castewide thing. furthering that, every purple having chucklevoodoos. that’s also inaccurate, because it’s explicitly stated that chucklevoodoos are only taught to subjuggulators.

- violets having capes and hair stripes. this is an eridan thing. even the entire ampora line doesn’t have hair stripes, it’s just eridan. it’s a mutation specific to him. let him have that. capes are, again, a fashion statement. while not explicitly stated it’s pretty obvious he dresses differently from the other trolls, and it seems to be a him-thing rather than a thing among violets. even cronus dresses fairly normally, save for wearing white instead of black.

- fuchsias having fish puns. it’s bad enough that people often oversaturate feferi with puns but almost every troll that gets turned into a seadweller magically seems to get nautical puns and it’s... uncreatively gross. that’s what actually spurred me to write this thing, seeing an indigo horuss with fins using fish puns. magic anons that change caste and you start writing your character with fish puns is even worse because there’s absolutely no logic behind it.

- mutants proudly displaying their color or mutation. they’d die. that’s it, they’d die. this obviously depends on circumstances, but on alternia standard, your troll would be culled if they were not hemoanonymous. On beforus too, but culled has a different meaning. earth aus or post-game aus dont count on this one, because mutants don’t matter there, they can do what they want safely. on that note, mutant-blood swaps all being crimson instead of exploring another color.
