Well, if you think about it, the Christian concept treats God living a human life as an *incredibly* significant thing, and the implication to me was that Jesus didn't forget or lose his humanity after he returned to Heaven.
Well, the implication is also that Jesus never forgot he was also god while a human either, which Chuck clearly DOES (or else he's putting on an act with the boys, which I LOATHE as an idea because that way his character is completely lessened/altered). So... yeah, idk if the concept of the Holy Trinity, which has god as simultaneously human/god/spirit really fits in SPN 'verse...
I did quite like the idea of Chuck as Jesus for a long time though. Jesus was a prophet, after all. He was scorned by the majority while he was alive, but had a small but dedicated fan following. The poncho get up, with, I believe, sandals, that Chuck wears when we first see him, rather mimics what Jesus might have worn (which is similar to how the way Prometheus wears his blanket mimics Greek dress). Jesus inspired the Gospels, Chuck writes the Winchester Gospels :p
...yeah, I remember why I liked this idea now!
Chuck = not God the father, but God the son. Chuck = Jesus. And his ending would have been like Jesus' ascent into Heaven, God taking his son back home.
Ooooh, actually I've just remembered something else. In Dogma, Metatron is the one who reveals to boy Jesus the truth about who he is and what his destiny is etc. I remember having a vague fic idea that this was supposed to happen to Chuck, but for whatever reason the message never got through (I think in my fic it was supposed to be Gabriel delivering the message, but he'd fucked off and so didn't, but that could apply to Metatron as well, who is similarly MIA) and so Chuck never learnt he was the son of God. Maybe maybe? :p
