NNNNNN CHUBBY!EGGSY yeeees. I like this head canon. It’s actually a legitimate theory too. And adorable. Because WHAT IF!Eggsy finally gets to eat like people should, three square meals a day, not something quick. During training no one noticed how Eggsy didn’t always finish his food, but would save some in a napkin, store it away for later. Not because he’d be hungry later, but because it’s a habit, the need to horde rations, just in case he doesn’t get another meal. He’s so use to making food stretch or having to sacrifice his own meals for his mum or Daisy, that he doesn’t even think about what he’s doing while at Kingsman.Roxy eventually catches on, but she doesn’t say anything (because that would be rude). Instead, she just starts giving Eggsy bits of her food. She’ll say something like “Oh I hate broccoli” or “no carbs for me, thanks” (even though she loves bread, damn it). Eggsy doesn’t complain about the extra portions.

While in training, with constant running, constant work outs, and everything, he burns off the extra calories. After V-Day, Eggsy is constantly working and he actually doesn’t get a lot to eat again, too busy trying to put the world back together and cope with the fact that Harry is gone.

It’s only after the dust is settled that Eggsy can eat regularly against, and while he’s been with Kingsman for a bit, he still has this fear that one day it’ll all be over and he’ll have nothing. So sometimes he eats more than he should, wanting to savor it. And sometimes he splurges on things that he couldn’t before. Nice restaurants. Fucking dessert. Maybe those fancy Belgian chocolates. Or an extra bag of crisps. And what if his favorite thing to do is to bring lunch around for him and Merlin to share? If he doesn’t, who will make sure Merlin eats? And sure he’s made it a habit of going out to dinner once a week with his mum, treating her out to something nice, or to go grab a pint and some snacks with Roxy after a mission. And what if Tristan’s wife is an amazing cook and keeps inviting him over for dinner?

He just loves food and being able to actually enjoy it is nice.

And usually it doesn’t matter because he burns it all off. But now that things are finally resolved with V-Day, the missions have declined. Eggsy is getting down time. He works out, of course, tries to keep nimble, but he also takes the opportunity to spend time with family and friends, and maybe even bond with Merlin. Coax the man out of his office, out to the cinema or for a drink.

All their casual outings eventually lead to Merlin asking Eggsy out on a date.

Eggsy doesn’t even realize he’s gained some weight until he tries to put on one of his suits for his date and the pants are a bit tight. He still has the definition of muscle, but instead of it being trimmed and sleek, it’s become thicker, bulkier, and his stomach has softened with a pooch.He’s just SO HAPPY TO HAVE FOOD and ALL THE GOOD THINGS that come with food, like memories with friends and family, laughing and bonding, building traditions, going out with someone YOU LIKE, that Eggsy didn’t even realize he’d put on some pounds.At first he’s self-conscious, especially when Merlin and Eggsy go to bed for the first time, but Merlin just kisses his belly, moaning over how much he adores Eggsy’s body, how he loves the feel of Eggsy beneath him, pliant and soft, and all Eggsy’s embarrassment goes out the window.
