The Dream Villas. Chuanchen hates the Dream Villas. Though he’s thankful to at least have a roof over his head, the dilapidated building serves as a constant reminder of just how far he’s fallen. He lives here, in room 201, but he’s barely at the apartment these days. His name is on the lease, but more often than not he finds himself waking up elsewhere. Somewhere that the sink doesn’t leak, and the wall by the window isn’t damp. Working two jobs means that he leaves early and returns late, and it’s often more convenient to find somewhere else to lay his head.
And so he doesn’t even realize what he’s done until he returns for the first time in a few days. The door is never locked. Anything with any value is in his van, so he doesn’t see a need. Except this time, it is. When he reaches the room, he stands outside, rattling the handle in an attempt to gain entry, giving up after a few minutes of futile attempt with a swift kick. Clearly he’d locked it when he’d left without thinking, and for the life of him he couldn’t think where the keys could be. They clearly aren’t in his pocket, he knows that, but he still finds himself patting himself down for them anyway. “Of course, that would be too easy” He mumbles, ignoring the new throbbing pain in his foot.
The only option seems to be forcig entry; breaking into his own apartment. Two options. Pick the lock (Probably best ot to ask where he acquired that skill) or climb through the open window. Both impossible from out here ad without the proper tools. Wandering over to another residents door he knocks confidently. In truth he’s never really paid much attention to the other people in this building. If they’d told him their names he’d forgotten. But from what he can recall they seem harmless enough. “202, are you in there? Hello?” He calls out, knuckles rattling against wood. “It’s Chuanchen from next door. Open up.”
