GOING DOWN WITH THE SHIPS
Okay. Today my feed has been inundated with Spiritshipping, Fianceeshipping, and I think I even saw some Charmershipping somewhere. I'm feeling left out here, Y'all!
So, time for me to throw my hat into the ring, put on my best Atticus Rhodes impression, and start throwing out some Star Points and my personal impressions of those three. And hey, maybe just maybe, when this is done, I'll say which one I like best?
Also, little sidenote before we begin. I was today years old when I learned that

Spiritshipping
Two spirit-seeing dorks with so much in common they might as well be clones. What's not to like? I'll be honest, when I was younger I didn't really see Jesse as a romantic partner for Jaden for reasons I'll get into later, but they definitely are too alike and have too much fun not to be inseparable. Jesse and Jaden both have fun when they duel, are loyal almost to a fault, and have a chemistry that Jaden just doesn't seem to have with other characters. AND DID I MENTION HE WENT TO LITERAL DIMENSIONAL HELL TO GET JESSE BACK?? Peeps, if someone goes to hell to bring you back, put a ring on em. They're a keeper.

Fianceeshipping
Yeah yeah, I know, the original cringe relationship. This one was my OTP for this series for the longest time until very recently. Alexis put way more into it than Jaden ever did, and looking back on it now she absolutely deserves better. Not saying she had too many good options around Duel Academy, don't @ me royalshippers I'm sure there's some cute interactions there too but that's another rant entirely, but seriously Alexis? You decided to throw your lot in with the densest person on the island so dreams about dueling? Party foul.

Charmershipping
Blair, girl, I'm sorry to do this to you. But your whole romance thing with Jaden just started out creepy AF. THE FIRST TIME SHE WAS INTRODUCED TO THE SERIES SHE SNUCK ONTO DA ISLAND TO RUB HER FACE ON ZANE'S DECK! Swap one letter in that last word and you could still finish the sentence and make it work, though the implications thereof are way too cringe-inducing given her age when she first showed up. The only reason she likes Jaden is because a schoolgirl crush got transferred to the first guy to beat her in a duel. A joke could be made here about how Blair started liking Jaden after he spanked her with his deck, but I'm above such juvenile antics. Something that took me out of her character completely was the change in her dub voice actor. Am I the only one who actually liked her Brooklyn accent when she reappeared at the end of the GX Tournament?
