I know a lot of people are saying Lila has been akumatizing herself into Chameleon to get the job done, which is a fair theory. We've seen self akumatization beforehand (from her AND Gabriel) but I don't think that's likely, firstly because I don't think the writers would be so obvious and secondly (and primarily, hehe), I prefer this theory more:
She has unlocked a new layer of the butterfly miraculous that has something to do with transforming appearances. In the pre-credits scene, LB mentioned the life cycle of a butterfly, and how they transform in the cocoon. Maybe, as an upgraded power, Lila can use her Chameleon powers. Something interesting and of GREAT importance to note is the order in which her 'accomplices' appeared when fetching the ladybug miraculous. First was a child (larva), then an adult firefighter in uniform, with face and body covered in thick layers (pupa), then an adult (butterfly), and then the pregnant woman (egg laying stage).
Also key is the fact that the pregnant woman WAS Lila. (We see the eye decorations when she communicates with Nemesis. So her miraculous is active and she shouldn't be akumatized herself.
I also have reason to believe that the child was Lila because of his expression. He checked his surroundings and moved carefully, like he knew the weight of his actions. I don't think a random accompliceâespecially a childâwould have this level of caution. We've been seeing extra detail with the new animation style. All those eye flicks and head turns weren't for nothing.
