Chronotopia Update: It’s always the darkest before dawn

It has been a while. You might be wondering what is going on with Chronotopia since April.

Well, for the first time in a long time I was able to catch my breath a little bit. I was even having fun playing a few videogames. Slowly, I felt my motivation returning and, as my health allowed me to, I started writing again during the summer vacation. I had momentum and was already picturing myself finishing Chronotopia’s intimate scenes soon after. I was so optimistic I even hesitated to make an announcement.

Unfortunately, things never go my way. In early September a conflic emerged between me and my partner. I won’t bore you with the details: long story short, we have decided to separate. It’s not exactly a surprise considering our relationship had been floundering for some months now, but I can’t pretend I’m not affected either. One does not erase 13 years of one’s life so easily! Needless to say that I’ve spent the last few months reflecting and grieving so I wasn’t really in the right state of mind to make progress.

The silver lining in all that is that Chronotopia: Second Skin was accepted as a part of the very first Fall in Love Festival hosted by Studio Elan. To celebrate, several streamers played the game throughout that week and I was very happy to follow their adventures (many thanks to them by the way 💖). Some even resumed their playthrough after the festival and being able to talk about obscure fairytales with them truly encourages me to take up my pen again. I’m hoping to make the most of a quiet spell during January to at least work on the booklet including the extended version of the game’s archives.

Regarding my plans for 2026, I would be hard pressed to tell you what’s going to happen to me. I’m once again at the mercy of fate. After all those years of issues, I won’t hide that I’m hoping fortune will smile upon me so that I can move relatively quickly. I’m in dire need of a change of life, of standing on my own two feet...
