When he locked them in, Palmer held the knife up close to the bars with a smile. “Smuggling weapons into prison is another offense. You’d be lucky to avoid life with this.”
This line of dialogue is spoken by Officer “Onion-Breath” Palmer who is one of the many Palmers who works at Hollow Grove’s Gallows Hall prison. The prison and all who work there are meant to be infuriating and any alleged criminal who has the misfortune to be arrested can expect a perpetual stay. Hollow Grove has a lot of supernatural traps like that hiding in plain sight.
In this particular instance, Palmer is taunting Emery after confiscating his pocket for the prison log. Emery and Mariela (co-conspirator) are journalists for the Hollow Times, the town’s newspaper, who just happened to be arrested during some story sleuthing.
