what is the best way to support your original writing? I've always loved what you've posted for free and would love to read some of your original work. I saw that you got some stuff posted on amazon, but do you get a good chunk of the profit or should I buy it elsewhere?

The way publishing works is different for every author. Amazon takes a hefty chunk, but buying from Amazon lets you get a verified purchase and you can give an honest review, even if you hate it -- I make it a policy to never read reviews, so please be honest!
Plus if you buy the ebook from Amazon, you can pick up the audiobook, too, and that’s just neat. I’ll never get over it. (I mean, I haven’t listened to it because I have audio processing difficulties, but audiobook!)

Also, Change of Address got a STARRED review from the American Library Association’s BOOKLIST, which means my book could be in your local library! Just go to the library and request it. If they can’t order it, they can probably get an inter-library loan. This goes for ebooks, too!
On a side note, I’m 48. My first book was published when I was 43. All you authors out there, DON’T STOP WRITING! Self-publish, indie publisher, big publisher, or even fanfic -- whatever you write, keep writing as long as it brings you delight. Don’t let anyone crush your dreams.
