With all this daily cooking, it’s no secret that there are some leftovers. I integrate them bit by bit into the next dish and the next. Last week, I saw my in-laws cook the leftovers from CNY, and transformed it into a completely new dish. My Wife urged me to make this zerowaste dish called- “Choy keok( or Kiam chai boey)”. Off I went with a translated recipe to the local markets. Finding the Asam Keping was a bit of a challenge, and I accidentally misread the recipe and bought pickled mustard greens at first😐, so had to go back to get fresh ones. I sweat the Duck bones from the other day and made a stick with that. Then, once that had flavor- I cooked it all With Abalone sauce, dried scallop sauce, dried chili’s, and touch of Tomato purée . Result was amazing. A whole different taste!! Best part is- Now, there are no more leftovers!
