I’m sorry but I cannot decide between Rachmaninoff’s prelude in c sharp minor and Chopin’s valse op 64 no 2, so you can have two! :)
All The Things You C#, Charles Mingus
Because I saw Rachmaninoff’s Prelude In C# Minor and remembered this where Charles Mingus combined that piece and All The Things You Are by Ella Fitzgerald. It’s absolute genius! So I thought I’d share this, though it’s a little unconventional :) So on to your choices!
Prelude In C# Minor, Rachmaninoff
Anything Rachmaninoff reminds me of Marcia. Not 100% sure why, but it’s one of the bases of her character I think. Like I subconsciously copied a bit of the soul of his music to put into Marcia? His music is so emotional to me, sometimes to the point where it’s tumultuous. You don’t listen to Rachmaninoff without your heart racing. At least, I can’t. Marcia is a very intensely emotional person.
Waltz Op. 64 No. 2, Chopin
I hadn’t heard this before but it’s beautiful. This is difficult. My brain doesn’t seem to be working for writing pieces at the moment so I’m going to stick with characters. Why is C# Minor such a beautiful key? I’d say this is like Robin, Isaac’s dad. There’s a certain quietness to it. It sounds like thoughts, rather than speech if that makes sense? The music is usually contained in a certain place, sometimes spilling out, but always coming back.
Sorry about my weird interpretations! Thanks for sending these suggestions :)
Tell me your favourite piano music. I’ll reply with what OC it reminds me of and why.
