H50 10x22 ending theory/some 10x21 thoughts (*possible spoilers*)
A theory I haven’t heard: the (POTENTIAL) final plane scene we’ve heard some about is actually Steve coming back to Hawaii after taking some time away, rather than him leaving—possibly with a *surprise guest* but idk, it just makes more sense to me that he/they would be coming back after a time jump instead and leaving it kind of open to intepretation. And perhaps this was the last-minute alteration that made the final script not 100% identical to the original one to provide some more closure. All speculation on my part though! Regardless, the bond we know McDanno has built over the past 10 years and that Alex/Scott have dedicated so much heart to is forever no matter what. ❤️
I thought that 10x21, while having some issues with continuities I won’t get into until I see how everything plays out next week (for example, Steve had opted out of the restaurant bc he “loved being a cop” but now he’s saying when it *closed* he started doing some thinking?), actually showed how deep and strong their bond is. Danny was so supportive and loving towards Steve, and Steve trusts Danny so completely to open up to him so vulnerably like that. Danny also making Steve laugh/smile was the first light-heartedness he showed all epi. And how much Steve loves Danno—never getting over “you’re my Danno!” They’ve seemed super super close to me this whole season, and I’m nervously excited to see how next week’s “Danny’s taken to hurt Steve” storyline plays out.
