You can enjoy the tasty combination of churros and doughnut holes in a healthier way. The air fryer is used to make these Chonut Holes, which gives them a crispy outside and a soft, fluffy inside. They're great for satisfying your sweet tooth.
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 1/2 cup water. 1/4 cup unsalted butter. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 large egg. Vegetable oil spray. 1/4 cup granulated sugar for coating. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon for coating.
Instructions: In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of ground cinnamon. Heat over medium heat until the mixture comes to a boil, then remove from heat. Stir in the flour until the mixture forms a ball of dough. Let it cool for a few minutes. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the dough, stirring until well combined. Preheat your air fryer to 350F 175C. Using a small scoop or your hands, form the dough into small balls chonut holes. Lightly grease the air fryer basket with vegetable oil spray to prevent sticking. Place the chonut holes in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not too crowded. Air fry at 350F 175C for 6-8 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and crispy, flipping them halfway through for even cooking. While the chonut holes are still warm, mix 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon in a bowl. Roll the air-fried chonut holes in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until they are well coated. Serve the chonut holes warm and enjoy!
