A delicious take on the traditional banana bread are these baked banana bread donuts. They have a rich, dark chocolate glaze on top and are flavorful and moist. Ideal for a sweet treat at any time of day or for breakfast!
Ingredients: 2 ripe bananas, mashed. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted. 1 egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1 teaspoon baking powder. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. 1/2 teaspoon salt. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg. 1/4 cup milk. 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips. 1 tablespoon vegetable oil.
Instructions: Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and grease a donut pan. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, sugar, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Spoon the batter into the greased donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean. Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate chips and vegetable oil in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Dip each cooled donut into the melted dark chocolate glaze, allowing any excess to drip off. Place the glazed donuts back on the wire rack to set the glaze for about 10 minutes. Enjoy your baked banana bread donuts with a rich dark chocolate glaze!
