These owl cookies are not only delicious but also incredibly adorable. With their chocolate chip eyes, almond beaks, and charming candy eyes, they are sure to bring a smile to everyone's face. A perfect treat for kids and owl lovers alike!
Ingredients: 1 cup all-purpose flour. 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1/2 cup granulated sugar. 1/4 teaspoon salt. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 1 egg. 1/4 teaspoon baking powder. Chocolate chips. Sliced almonds. Candy eyes edible. Food coloring optional.
Instructions: In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture, and continue mixing until well combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a smooth cookie dough forms. Optional: If you want colored owl cookies, divide the dough into smaller portions and add a few drops of food coloring to each portion. Mix well until the desired color is achieved. Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up. Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Take a portion of the chilled cookie dough and roll it into a ball. Place it on the prepared baking sheet and flatten it slightly with your palm. For each owl cookie, press two chocolate chips pointy side down into the dough to create the eyes. Add a sliced almond between the eyes to form the beak. Press two more chocolate chips below the eyes and beak to create the wings. Optional: Use additional candy eyes to give your owl cookies extra cuteness! Bake the owl cookies in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, your adorable owl cookies, too cute to eat, are ready to be enjoyed!
