So i'm definitely not a swan thief shipper, definitely a CS. but as for an intelligent argument for ST, the thing that made me hate Neal less was when he burst into his apartment when rumble was threatening Emma. It was his face that did it. he seems so afraid of his father, but he sucked it up when he thought she was in danger. so if ur into the whole knight in shining armor, i can c how some1 would lik him, i personally don't think emma doesnt need/want a savior, after all she is the savior.
yeah, but he could’ve sucked it up the first time he found out she was connected to his father.
emma is the white knight of the story; she doesn’t need protecting, she just needs someone who will fight for her. neal came back because he felt GUILTY.
which he should, since he was the one who convinced her to break the deal by lying about finding him. if his father did something to her, it would be on him.
because it was so reminiscent of the betrayal of his own father, he already felt guilty for abandoning her the first time, and i think the added lack of closure with his father was enough to propel him to show up again.
showing a backbone for the first time in 11 years doesn’t immediately make him a man in shining armor—but, again, not that emma needs one.
