Chloe could hardly believe her eyes. On top of everything she was dealing with, now she was staring at Bash. Who had said nothing to her about being out of prison, first of all. Second of all, he had been in prison in the first place. He wasn’t her problem, but she somehow always managed to make him her problem. Especially with everything that had happened with Lily, and the fact that Chloe had now taken her on as a client. It seemed like a good idea at the time, a harmless way to make a jab at him for getting himself in such trouble, but now it was just going to be weird. She wasn’t getting paid enough to deal with weird. Her feet carried her before she could think. She found herself planted in front of him, chin tilted up to look at him as he stood over a foot taller than her. Her arms crossed in front of her chest, as she seemingly waited for him to say something. “So, I take it you’re out of prison?” The question had a bite to it that wasn’t quite so casual. It wasn’t really fair to be upset with him, she knew that, but Chloe wasn’t exactly in a state for emotional control.
