thanks for introducing me to the idea of liking-then-unliking a reblog of one's own post to give a nod of approval to the reblogger. this is super useful but also kind of counterintuitive, i don't know that i would have thought of it without you mentioning that you do it
Hold on I think there's been either a miscommunication or a misunderstanding somewhere, cos I don't do the thing you're describing... and also I don't think it works! Once you unlike a post the notification disappears from the other person's activity feed I'm pretty certain, so if you like-then-unlike quickly they probably won't even see that you did anything? Pretty sure?
I've talked about (basically the opposite thing) unliking a post that I'd previously already liked then re-liking a newly-reblogged version, so that the new reblogger gets some love... this does "remove" the notification from whoever I liked it from originally, but that doesn't really matter since it was probably a long time ago and won't be noticed anyway.
