Dick’s eyes rose from the dishes in the sink to watch his wife. Georgia was still out on the porch smoking, despite the lightning that cracked down in the fields across the road.

The 101st had won in Normandy, according to the brass. However, the division's luck starts to run out during the fall 1944 invasion of Holland - and so does Georgia Fenley's.

September 17th, 1944. France.

The good news the 506th had been awaiting finally came on September 7th, in the form of Operation Market Garden. Ike had agreed to halt the entire Allied advance so that the British General Montgomery could drop Airborne divisions along a road that ran from Eindhoven, in Holland to Arnhem, in Germany. The plan was for the 101st, 82nd, British 1st, and British 6th Airborne divisions to capture and hold strategic bridges along the road until the British Armoured divisions arrived.

If it went well, the war could be over by Christmas.

Okay, so this is really too addictive. THIS IS IT TIL THE WEEKEND! (Anybody believe me?) Imagine how much fun it’d be if I REALLY knew what I was doing and had the better tools to do it. 😜

August 30th, 1944. Aldbourne, England.

Summertime in Aldbourne was missing something. Everything was much the way the 506th had left it back in May, but it still didn’t seem quite right after nearly two months in combat. Georgia found herself drifting towards her old friend Marian Singer for comfort, rather than confiding in Lew and Dick. Because of this, she found herself striding towards a table in the back of a small pub.

And we’re back in business folks! Taking a posting hiatus was exactly the right step for me, and it’s been so wonderful and helpful. With that said, I’m so excited to be back to posting updates!

You may have noticed some changes - a new banner, and a new organization on Wattpad! This is for my peace of mind as well as easier reading.

With all of that done, let’s get into the fic!

June 24th, 1944. Carentan, France.

Georgia walked briskly down the hall, the din from the three men inside letting her know just what she was in for. She shook her head but smiled nonetheless, knowing she’d be happier with the company. Soon enough, she breezed into her office with her arms full of work to do. She kicked the door shut behind her. Dick jumped, but Harry and Lew didn’t.

Dick had been leaning against the wall beside the door while Lew sat in one of the chairs across from her desk. To his left sat Harry.
