Working on the Ant Farm media van at CalArts Super Shop
Describing what they were doing as “underground architecture,” a friend commented: “oh underground architecture is what ants do!” The experimental art and design collective "Ant Farm" was founded in 1968 by Chip Lord and Doug Michels. During their residency at the Calarts Design School they gave lectures and workshops. Here, a photo of an 'Ant Farmer' at work, cutting the skylights in the roof of the media van at CalArts.
