Tangled is my favourite disney movie and the AU is SO GOOD!
Glad you like it! @chintadraws is the one actually writing and illustrating it, but I am indeed a co-author! We came up with the idea together and we loved it too much not to do something with it. And I just love the way she draws Danny and Vlad in her comics, they both look so pretty.
Chin actually wrote a couple paragraphs tonight, so hopefully we can get another chapter uploaded soon!

I recently received my physical copy in the mail and it’s absolutely lovely. It’s filled to the brim with amazing artwork and an even more amazing story. If you love a good ol’ fashioned murder mystery with a heavy helping of thrilling horror, be sure to check out @snappingsound on FFN.
Thank you, Leda (Shayne), for sharing your story. ❤
Introducing the one and only, Jeyla Shou! If you’ve been following me for a while you may have remembered her from this post.
Inspired by Marie Kondo, Jeyla is the antithesis to Marie’s joy sparking agenda. Her exceptionally polite mannerisms mixed with her dastardly mind games makes her all the more difficult to evade. A ghost that makes everyone drown themselves in everything that Does Not Spark Joy, Jeyla dooms every one to a life of fear, uncertainty and an unshakable sense of psychosomatic clutter.
And of course, she pays a visit to Amity Park, where she has all the fun tormenting its citizens. She visits often too. Her favourite victim is none another than Amity’s resident ghostly superhero, after all. :)

Danny dropped to his knees in front of the grave marker and placed a hand on the cold stone.
“Of course. She was my mother.”
He read the name and dates engraved into the tombstone. The ghost that followed him everywhere floated by his side. She crossed her arms with a cock of her head and a frown, always jealous any time he mentioned affection for other women.
His hand still on the stone, Danny hung his head and stared at the ground, imagined his mother’s body deep below him, the very body he used to feel and touch and hug. So close to him and yet the farthest she had ever been.
But she was not completely gone.
The ghost beside him shared his mother’s voice, her mannerisms, her appearance. The slope of her nose, the shape of her lips, the curve of her figure. Her skin was a translucent green and her eyes were a reflective crimson and her entire being shimmered with a spectral glow, but there was no mistaking her. He knew his mother.
But she did not know him. Not the way she used to. Not anymore.
Danny raised his head to look at her as she hovered above her own grave. She was staring intently at the name etched into the stone, not recognizing it at all.
She had no idea who she used to be or what she meant to him. She had no memory of her previous life, no memory of all the times she held him close to her and kissed his head.
All she had now was her ghostly obsession: him.
She had left her terrestrial body but apparently could not bear the thought of actually leaving her son. And now as a ghost, although she had no understanding of the reason behind it, she was compelled to be with him. To haunt him always.
And she would continue to haunt him until either her obsession was satisfied or she recovered her memory of being his mother. And then she would finally be able to move on from this imprisoning existence.
He could help her remember. He knew that.
But she had left him too soon. He always knew she’d have to leave him eventually but he hadn’t expected it to be this early. She had been too young, he had been too young.
The ghost beside him was not his mother anymore. But she looked and acted just like his mother. And he wanted to keep this illusion just a little longer.
He stood and brushed the dirt off of his knees and pants. “Okay. Let’s go.”
His mother’s ghost pouted. “Do you think you were important to her, too?”
Danny smiled at her fondly. “Oh, I meant everything to her. You are proof of that.”
Her mouth dropped open in bewildered surprise. Danny continued to smile as he led the way home.

Plant Paulina is Queen. Meanwhile, Danny:
...he’s doing his best.
------
“Stay, Danny. Stay and rule with me.”
Danny stood still, frozen by the hypnotic voice.
Paulina appeared above him, her eyes an earthy green yet not at all familiar. Her hair fell around her in perfect waves, dotted with flowers that paled in comparison to her beauty. The short green dress wrapped around her body, Undergrowth’s vines circled her bare arms and legs as if to tease him.
Despite the recent discovery of his ice powers, Danny found it hard pressed to stay cool in the situation. Especially when she began to move towards him with a simple beckoning gesture.
“Come on, Danny,” she purred tunefully, “you know you want to.”
Deep in his mind he knew this wasn’t really her, that she was being controlled.
But damn was it tempting to accept her offer.
She reached for him, her hips swaying with each step she took towards him. His body ached for her touch, but Danny had to pull himself away. He knew he’d be a goner if he let her get to him. He had to get his act together if he wanted to save her, to save the town.
“Sorry, Paulina. I can’t stay with you, not like this.”
She pouted at his retreat, her eyelids drooping. Danny fought back the urge to hold her, assure her everything would be alright. Anything to see her smile.
“I know you’re still in there. And I’m going to do everything I can to get you back. I promise.”
Paulina’s eyes widened as he began speeding away from her. She gave chase, catching up to him easily. The roots curled and groaned, surpassing him and shooting up from the ground in front of him.
Danny prepared to shoot an ectoblast at the oncoming wall of vines. He quickly averted his aim when Paulina appeared in his line of fire, instead. He tried to stop himself, but his hands began to shake, his chest trembled. A biting cold seized his chest and spread through to his fingertips with a striking force.
The recoil sent him back a ways. A hard shiver wracked his entire body. His teeth were chattering so much he was sure his eyes were going to fall out of their sockets.
With a groan, he blinked away the dizzying cold, brows furrowing at the sight of frost tainted vines.
He scanned the scene in a sudden panic, then sighed in momentary relief at the sight of Paulina unharmed. The only thing stopping her was the struggle to move from where her feet were frozen to the ground. She stared straight at him, betrayal painted on her face.
Danny grimaced and fled the scene before she could say anything that might stall him again.
As soon as he figured out what exactly was going on with his new powers and how to control them properly, he’d be sure to make Undergrowth pay for this.
@imekitty and I have too much fun making this dorkass pout.
“Danny? Danny! You know your face is completely red, right?”
Danny groggily sat up in his beach chair, his toes sinking into the warm sand. Jazz was sitting beside him in her swimsuit with hair dripping salt water. He looked out at the ocean, at all of the kids and couples and families enjoying the summer day.
He then peered up at the nearly cloudless sky through his sunglasses. The solar rays of the sun felt so heavy and hot. He pressed his fingers to the heated skin of his face. “Wasn’t I sleeping in the shade?”
“Oh yeah, Dad moved the Fentonbrella while you were asleep.” Jazz gestured to the new position of their beach umbrella. “He said it’s some sort of solar energy converter.”
“And where are Mom and Dad?”
“They went to get food. You know how Dad can’t go ten minutes without eating something.”
Danny nodded his understanding and took off his sunglasses to massage his bleary eyes. Jazz burst out laughing.
“You’ve got raccoon eyes!” she giggled.
Danny grimaced. “Do I really?”
Jazz giggled some more as she snapped a picture on her phone and held it out to him. Danny groaned at the sight of bright red surrounding the unburned skin only around his eyes.
“You actually look pretty cute,” Jazz cooed.
“Shut up.” Danny returned the phone to her and put his sunglasses back on with a small grumble.
A chill tore through his lungs, icing his breath. Jazz’s mirth disappeared immediately as she frowned.
“Ghost?” she asked.
“No other possible explanation on a scorcher like this.”
It didn’t take long for Danny to locate the ghost, especially with all the screams coming from the same direction. He removed his sunglass and ducked under the Fentonbrella to transform.
“Hopefully this won’t take long,” said Danny now in ghost form, giving Jazz a confident smile.
Jazz burst out laughing again. Danny’s smile dropped as he watched her roll over on the sand while clutching her side.
“Your sunburn is still there!” she managed to gasp out. “And it’s green! And you still have raccoon eyes!”
Danny pouted and glared at her as she continued to laugh. He irritably placed his sunglasses back over his face before flying off to stop the ghost.
