I made this renfaire skirt from 1990s curtain fabric, and the corset is double layered coutil. The texture of the material makes such a difference to how the completed cosplay looks!

Sewing a corset includes many, many fittings. That means lots of lacing and unlacing. Here's a behind the scenes look at one of my recent corset fittings.

Dont worry, I didn't try historically accurate cosmetics! This is the white foundation from sunset. Turns out my basic goth makeup tools (white foundation/powder + some powerful hairspray) are all I need to fake an 18th century look.

I probably should have brought the foundation down to my neckline but I didn't want to take any chances getting it on the silk, especially since it was 84° F out. I'll test it on a silk scrap and see how that comes clean before I do full makeup.
