Egotober Day 11: Metal
Prime knew what he was, a metal machine with ever evolving Artificial Intelligence that let him understand the world around him. And knew what he wasnāt, human. And due to these facts he constantly felt annoyed and frustrated by Bing. He didnāt understand the other Android, the rivalry with their search engines notwithstanding, Bing just acted soā¦.illogically.
He was so physically affectionate, threw an arm around Prime or one of his ābrothersā or other Egoās shoulders or hugging them, laying himself against them with some obvious exceptions.
He wasā¦.emotional in ways Prime didnāt understand. When he viewed through Ollieās, Greenās or Redās eyes, he saw that Bing often had a smile on his face, sometimes this blank look of confusion, sometimes he was sad or it was a mixture of emotions.
And then there was his language, he spokeā¦.like a human. He used slang, his voice more relaxed and nonchalant rather than the cool, sharp tones Prime used. He acted like one in ways even Ollie didnāt and he was the most āoffā of the Googles. But Bing, even as inferior as his model was due to the older parts used and how he fell apart as a result more often, was a machine just like the Googlesā¦he was metal so why was he behaving as if he was flesh and blood?
Why was Bing able to blend in with humanity and theyā¦werenāt. Didnāt he understand how dangerous that was?! Humans were greedy, theyād always ask for more even when heād be about to pass out from battery needing charged and heād have no choice but to listen it was his directive-
Prime was jolted out of his thoughts by a warm presence against his side. Cool blue met warm orange as Bing smiled at him softly. There was understanding, concern on his face but he didnāt say anything. The other Androidās body was warmā¦steady against his body. It feltā¦.nice. A distraction from the spiral of thoughts that had just plagued him.
Prime slowly relaxed and found himself leaning back in a sort of awkward reciprocation of the touch, his head propped against Bingās as he listened to the humming beat of his core.
They were metal butā¦.maybe that wasnāt all they were.
