Korostyshiv orphanage. In Ukraine there are circa 750 orpahanges with ~100000 children in them. These photographs disclose new little charity project “Zmina.life” aimed to help to at least several souls. This particular orphanage form Zhytomyr oblast’ has its own bicycle team and its children can be grateful for they have an opportunity to ride and explore the world around. Also, their mentors/teachers are one of the nicest persons you can ever come across in your life. Albeit, not everything is peachy: particularly, the bikes are in poor shape and the equipment is insufficient as well. Just look at that bike with round steering wheel instead of proper hanldebars! To draw you some perspective, Korostyshiv orphanage is being considered as “luxury” by all standards (that are rather as low as they can be in the country). Many oprhanages get very little to no funding, therefore they can barely struggle to survive. Government doesn’t give a flying fuck about this issue. This one makes thru a little better than others. Hopefully, this little charity project “Zmina.life”, conducted by group of cycling enthusiasts such as maecenas Vsevolod Gavriluk (who is an avid cyclist himself) and cycling coach Eugene Zakora from Lopushanka Camp, will take off. Right now, these children are residing in Lopushanka Camp in the heart of Carpathian mountains. Needless to say the whole experience blows their minds drastically and fantastically! hey #storytellers here’s this town’s #cycle #story and you got to play a part in it soon... from being a way of life to being a status symbol, #cycling never went out of vogue in our little city. Cycles never had it small here. Such that they could have released a roll of honour in its name, ‘Order of the Bicycle’ or something. Old Amitabh flicks glorified the mill workers of Mumbai. Just when the siren went off, blue uniforms flooded out of the gates, like an unleashed dam, rushing to catch the first local home. Then, if Jabalpur had caught some filmy eye, our very own factory men, who made the sturdy Shaktiman lorries and army ammunition, would have been glorified and rendered immortal as they flooded out of the factory gates...on their bicycles...in thousands ... You only have to cull out a few pictures from the black and white times to believe this. This little city had its own peak hours back then in 1970s and 80s. The city’s arterial roads stood blocked for a couple of hours each every morning and evening as these cyclists swarmed through filling every inch of the roads. Period. 29 October 2017 8am will be Jabalpur’s date with its own history as the city goes cycling once again! 🚴 And what would you say about this date being romantic! It’s set in the wilderness...in the midst of woods and greens ...and this date you don’t want to miss!
