It was a small restaurant, cozy and nothing too fancy, but it was hers. In fact, it was an inheritance from her grandfather, Chris, her father, had worked on it his whole life and only two years ago did he gave his daughter the position of chef. He needed to be sure that was ready, or so her told her. Allison was more than glad to step into the kitchen, her passion always being in between strong scents and loud voices. She adored spending her time in the busy kitchen ever since she was a little girl, tasting a bit of everything and trying to do some combinations of her own. However, her father always taught her to stick to the traditional. After all, it was what brought people in. Whenever someone went into their restaurant, they felt at home and that something the Argents had always take pride in.
Allison's life was fulfilling and aiming towards being her dream scenario, however, a few months ago everything started going downhill. She had stared with wide eyes how the coffee shop across the street was demolished and a new modern building took it's place. It was only worse when she saw that it was bound to be a restaurant. Once the name was set up, the brunette chef had made her share of research and discovered it was one of those mode cuisine restaurants; those fancy places in which they mixed everything up and charged double for it.
She knew she shouldn't be scared; after all, they were very different. But soon her restaurants started having less visitors, all curious about what was brewing across the street. So war was mentally declared and the first step was knowing the enemy. Not even caring about taking her white uniform off or undoing the bun that held her hair, Allison approached the hostess.
"Could you tell Mr. Hale that Ms. Allison Argent would like a word with him?"
"Do you have an appointment?"
"No, but could you please inform him?"
"Is everyone in this restaurant so nice? As a hostess you should at least try to contact him."
Now her voice had acquired a louder volume and people were starting to look in her direction. Allison didn't care. In fact, she hoped the commotion would make the chef stop bunkering in the kitchen.
