“I know every twist and turn, nook and cranny of this house,” Thomas said, “well… nearly. Gracey Manor still has her secrets. Is there any place that would do, do you think?”
A teenage Teresa, still innocent and polite as she was when she was younger, walked into the library with a stack of books in her arms with a warm smile on her face, “Mr Ammicus?” Of course she called him that since she could remember, “I finished these last night. “Ah, yes!” Amicus said, tilting his head to read the titles, “there’s nothing quite like the classics. It’s a pity that they aren’t read by more spirits or even mortals. Would you like to try these next?"
He took a couple steps up a ladder to pluck a few dusty books from the shelves. When he turned around, he laid them out on a small table. Illuminated by the lamp light, Amicus grinned.
"I highly recommend M. R. James. His stories, written in the late Victorian era, are delightfully dreadful. I enjoy his eerie tales so,” he said, “I also recommend Mr. Dickens’s ‘A Christmas Carol’. A quick read, it is truly a classic and excellent for the season! 'Scary ghost stories and tales of the glories of Christmases long, long ago,’ as the song goes.”
