Cree-Silver Corley: A talented 9-year old taking on Broadway!
There is no such thing as a typical career path, but Cree-Silver Corley is making a strong case for rewriting the rules anyway. At nine years old, the Queens native has already logged Broadway credits, screen appearances, and now a national tour debut as Gavroche in Les Misérables. The role demands a specific blend of scrappy defiance and pathos, and early responses suggest Corley delivers like a seasoned actor beyond his young years.
His screen work runs parallel. An appearance on Sesame Street for the “Elmo’s Toy Swap” episode now streaming on Netflix and PBS shows a different register: warm, patient, ensemble-minded. Offstage, Corley fences, plays soccer, studies ballet, and sings. It is a disciplined slate for any performer, let alone one still in elementary school. With support from Stewart Talent, manager T. Theresa Bastien, and publicist Rick Eberle, Corley is building something measured rather than meteoric. The Les Misérables tour will test his stamina across cities and crowds and help him reach a much broader audience.
