I'm a little in the middle about it. Because yeah, I can sort of understand why she'd break down at the last moment, but... idk man, the whole scene just felt off. Stannis was off, SHE was a bit off, too...
Stannis seemed way off, no question. To me, Selyse had to choose between fanaticism and being a mother, and in the end the mother instinct won. It would have been weird to me if Selyse hadnāt broke down, actually- it was weird enough that Stannis didnāt put a stop to it

EXACTLY! It's just inconsistent characterization, dude. And yeah, D&D have done a lot of good things on the show, but this was a BIG MISTAKE. And oh my god, her screams as they burned her... I'm crying again... it was absolutely horrifying!
