I don’t have words to begin. My family and I express our sadness at the passing of the Detroit Police Department Officer who was killed this morning in a training exercise. My heart is saddened as he was a young man who leaves behind a daughter to mourn. In recent days 3 DPD officers were shot, last week we just buried one and it may seem as if this is an epidemic. #ChiefCraig has a task to lead a force of good men and women who are saddened to watch fellow officers shot at, and attacked. Friends, we can’t attack those who are protecting us. Let’s not blur the lines here. We expect officers to show up at a scene of domestic violence to protect those who are vulnerable.
