What Next? - Don't Be Shy

Chie Mori is easily today's coolest and best drummer. She plays in awesome bands like The Beets and What Next?, and plays with a kit smaller than even the Velvets could have imagined: A snare, a floor tom-tom, and a cymbal. But the sounds and emotive range she manages to get out of them would and does put Neil Peart or Roger Taylor to shame with them and their double basses. We totally recommend listening to everything she's a part of, but to truly get a sense of how awesome she is, you have to see her whenever she plays live.
