Meet Aislinn (Ash for short in case she's a he), the sole survivor of the racoons attack. Isn't she lovely? Her mamma Gladys had to be humanely put down this morning. She was suffering and had little chance of pulling through, I just couldn't do that to her anymore. So now I'm a chicken mamma. Again. It's a bit harder this time though, she doesn't like to be alone and cries unless I'm close. I'm adjusting but had anyone told me 2 years ago that I'd be showering with a chicken perched on the towel bar in the shower with me I'd have been sure they were on crack. The things we do for love SMH. Aislinn has a shiny new chick brooder but prefers to crawl under my phone so she can peck at it, and my buttons, cross, earrings and then sleep on me. There are far worse things and I already love her dearly. Besides I promised her mamma I would take good care of her and I intend to. Wish me luck my friends, failure isn't an option. #poverty_hill #homestead #aislinn #ripmammagladys #chickybabies #chickensofinstagram #orphanchick #motherofchickens #stayathomechickenmom #lovemychickens #ruralpa #prettychickens #myhappyplace (at Pennsylvania) https://www.instagram.com/p/ByqEnLNnsFy/?igshid=srdtalf85xk9
