I am featured in Special Events Magazine’s winter 2020 issue in an article called “The wedding was where?” It focuses on wedding venues that are unique and different. A Detroit mother of the bride called this Chicago wedding planner to come out to Michigan and design and coordinate her daughter‘s wedding. She is a US gold medal championship ice skater. She was marrying her ice-skating partner, and wanted to be married on the ice. While the bride just wanted to throw out a piece of carpet and have the ceremony there, the bride‘s mom wanted something more “magical“. I was very humbled when she told me that she did not know there was someone in the Midwest of my caliber. So once we agreed to work together, I then realized I had only five months to put this extraordinary event together. This is where being in the industry so long really paid off. While I personally did not know much about ice rinks, I knew who to call. Then from there I put the rest of the design together, bringing vendors from Chicago.. The team I put together was just incredible. Truly a dream team.. It’s definitely one of the most unique and challenging weddings of my career..
