It takes a while for either of them to ask the other out since they’re both pretty private people
They start going out as friends, but the mood shifts to more romantic at some point (neither of them are quite sure when it was so subtle)
Their dates are pretty chill, mostly walks through parks, relaxing at each other’s houses, or target practice
PDA is a definite no-no for both of them, and while Chiba enjoys a bit of physical affection, Hayami just needs to spend time with Chiba to show she cares
LOTS of present-giving, during holidays, special occasions, or just a simple “saw this and I thought of you” gift
They think nobody knows they’re dating, but everyone knows. It’s pretty obvious to them solely based on the amount of time they spend together
