So there’s a thing where tumblr prevents your posts from appearing in the tags and search results if there’s an outgoing link in it (based on experience)

For example, if you posted fan art of steven universe and placed a link to your red bubble store or ko-fi page in the description, your art will not appear in the steven universe tag if you search through it. Which means the only users who are most likely gonna see your art are only the people who are already following you

This makes it really difficult to gain recognition and new followers, especially for artists who rely on getting their art out there to get income through commissions & online stores. But the posts are just fine if the links go to another tumblr link so I found that redirecting pages was a very helpful solution

1. Go to your blog and edit your theme

2. Scroll down to add a page & change the layout to “redirect”

3. Type in a new tumblr link to redirect to your other websites
