Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel
This engineering marvel opened in 1964. It connects the Delmarva Peninsula with the eastern shore of Virginia. This combination structure combines trestles, causeway, and multiple tunnels to connect the land masses that are more than seventeen miles apart.
