From her beautiful studio overlooking Lake Hodges in Escondido, California—open for tours once a month—Cherrie La Porte says she “focuses on creating unique glass sculptures stylizing a combination of fused, dichroic, stained glass, stones, mirror, and tiles in an explosion of texture and color.” La Porte has been practicing for more than 25 years and teaching for 15 of those. Her work varies in scale from small jewelry pieces to large public and private installations. In 2017 La Porte traveled a few short miles north where she shared her passion for “art, the garden and all things beautiful,” with this installation for the Vista Library on Eucalyptus Ave.  @cherrielaporte/
