Once you fill out the form, you will get an email confirming your participation and - if you are an author - give you access to the summary submission form.  It will also have the rules and the schedule attached for reference. The biggest changes that have been made this year are the incorporation of beta readers for those who want an extra set of eyes, and a much longer time frame for the event itself to fit around other fandom events and give our wonderful participants more time and flexibility to finish their works.

Basic Rules

We will require an email you regularly check for communication and information.

Each work must be new or previously unpublished

All stories must be 5000+ words.  Each artist must complete at least 1 artwork for the story(s) they claim.

All participants are responsible for the content they create and engage with.

 Participants under the age of 18 should not submit or claim anything with graphic sexual content. It is against the law and a major offense.

Kink shaming and fandom policing are both major offenses, and you will only get one warning.

 You can create more than one fanwork, but do not submit more than one unless you are certain you can complete all works by the due date.

 Individual works are allowed, no one is required to participate in claims - so if you want to just write a story for the bang without collaborating with an artist, or if you want to put out art without a story attached, you can totally do that.

Content

Artists are allowed to make almost any type of art (digital, physical, gifsets, fanvids, etc.) as long as it falls within the purview of the fanfiction. 

Cherik must be the primary relationship of the story but there can also be polyamorous relationships and general  (i.e. friendship) relationship. The relationship between them can take on any form as long as it is the focus of the story. 

All stories with sexual assault/torture/excessive violence/etc. must be tagged appropriately with content warnings. The artist and the author must inform each other if their work contains any possibly triggering content. Artists and Authors should please consult each other about squicks and triggers before making the piece.

Underage sex is not allowed.

Posting 

Do Not Start Posting Until The Posting Date.

You will not be allowed to post after the end of the posting period without prior permission from the mods (but we are friendly, so please tell us if something is going on and you need an extension).

Each story and its associated art must be posted according to the schedule unless otherwise arranged with the mod. A master list and A03 list will be created when all works are submitted.

All art posts have to have a link to the story and vice versa.

All posts have to mention and tag/link to the Cherik Big Bang

What is a bang?

A bang is where fanfiction authors and artists come together to collaborate over a specific ship/fandom - in this case, Cherik.  Authors will send in summaries of their stories and artists will claim those stories to do art for.  In the end, there will be a mass posting of new content.

What is Cherik?

Cherik is the relationship between Erik Lensherr/Magneto and Charles Xavier/Professor X in the X Men Universe.

So a bang is a collaborative event between fanfiction authors and artists. The artists can put out any type of art they want - moodboards, digital art, book covers, music, etc. The fanfiction authors can do the same with the content of their story - anything from a Mermaid!AU to a gay canon interpretation essay - as long as the focus of the story is whatever the bang is about - in this case, Cherik. The authors submit their story summaries and artists choose which stories they want to do art for based on those summaries. At the end, everybody posts their work and the fandom has a whole new slew of fanworks to enjoy. Hope that helps!
