Binder Park Cheetah Chase 2014
Running in this year’s Cheetah Chase was fun, yet challenging! The trail consisted of many inclines and declines, making it much more difficult to run than Color Me Rad, which takes place on the flat city streets of Detroit. Despite having to walk some of the race, we didn’t finish last, with 44 minutes as our final time.
After the race and the event festivities were over, we visited Binder Park and its animals. I have been to this zoo once before, when I was very young, and realized that this is the place I have been saying was one of the coolest zoos I have ever been to, but just couldn’t remember the name.
The atmosphere of the zoo is one like no other, it truly feels like you’re in the wild. The hiking trails and long strolls through the woods to other exhibits reminded me of hiking Up North, it is a great place to enjoy exotic and familiar nature!
My favorite part of the day was being able to feed the giraffes. With it being World Giraffe Day, it was a must.
