Kumara Cheese Pork Katsu and Spicy Pork Bansang from Yoon's Kitchen. We were on our way to Mitre 10 Albany to buy some floor tiles (by the way, if you can, avoid buying floor tiles from Mitre 10 Albany because the customer service there is not so good, I only persisted enduring the poor customer service because I wanted the floor tiles there that I couldn't find anywhere else from specialist tile shops like Tile Depot, Tile Warehouse and Tile Space which have much better customer service). As we were in the North Shore, we decided to get some lunch first in the area before picking up the tiles. I have been eyeing Yoon's Kitchen for sometime now since before the Level 4 lockdown after discovering it on Zomato as the Kumara Cheese Katsu looks so delicious and I haven't seen this done anywhere else in Auckland. The Kumara Cheese Pork Korean was absolutely delicious. Crispy on the outside, cheesy and slightly meaty on the inside and the sweetness and creaminess of the kumara mash goes really well with the katsu. It taste good on its own or with the Spicy Katsu Sauce they give on the side. The spicy katsu sauce tasted like a combination of the usual sweet and tangy katsu sauce plus some japanese curry powder. I wish they'd give more rice though. It was not enough for me. This dish is definitely a hidden gem as I have not seen this anywhere else and I only discovered it by luck when I was searching for Korean food to eat in the North Shore a while back. Plus it is tucked away in like a Business Office area which probably not much people would normally venture to unless you work in that area or have business to do in that area. Rating - 9.5 /10 Not going to write a full review of the Spicy Bansang as I feel lazy to review it right now and I only had some of it but I will say that what I tried was tasty. #cheesekatsu #porkkatsu #porkcheesekatsu #kumaracheesekatsu #koreankatsu (at Yoon's Kitchen_Korean Cafe and Coffee) https://www.instagram.com/p/B_-3gEbF9Md/?igshid=2akxpyv4ls3f
