        a  million  questions  cross  her  mind  at  the  sight  of  the  sizable  stuffed  bear  taking  up  a  good  chunk  of  the  garage  .  she  doesn’t  know  where  she  got  it  from  or  how  exactly  she  got  it  back  to  the  house  without  anyone  noticing  but  she’s  momentarily  distracted  by  how  cute  the  damn  thing  is  enough  not  to  start  questioning  her  about  the  details.  “  we  said  no  gifts  but  you  really  went  all  out,  huh  ?  “  if  her  dad  sees  this  &  starts  asking  about  secret  admirers  &  whatnot  ,  she  will  personally  dig  a  hole  in  the  ground  &  bury  herself  in  it  -----  garage  door  is  swiftly  closed  behind  her  before  she  moves  in  closer,  gripping  the  bear’s  paws  inside  her  hands  &  shaking  her  head.  “  i  love  it,  zo.  thanks.  i  think  he’s  gonna  make  an  excellent  cuddle  buddy..  &  a  comfy  backup  bed  by  accident,  probably.  “

“What’s—“ He laughed as she attacked him again. “What’s this for?”

          he pauses for a moment,  turning to follow zoey’s eyeline.   his gaze latches onto alex standing on the other side of the venue,  in discussion with a handful of music journalists,  and like a switch being flicked he’s suddenly flushed a deep shade of red.   willie turns back to zoey,  hand covering his mouth in an attempt to conceal his embarrassed smile over his boyfriend’s sister pointing out the obvious.   ❝   yeah.   ❞   he eventually manages to get out,  gaze flickering back to alex as he rocks back on his heels.   ❝   yeah. he’s pretty cute.   ❞
