YIPEEEE the decals have been (somewhat) figured out!

they're basically the scuffs and scratches on top of the bg that gives it a little more texture/personality.

subtle, but effective.

I have a 2 part script that goes along with the map importer--pain in ass but much less so than setting it up individually. There are like-- 300 or so individual decals in the hideout map alone.

note to self: check back on the script later--adjust bsdf to below--seems to fit best for now

Metallic 1 Roughness 0 IOR 1

I had one hell of a time trying to figure out how to make it work on inclined surfaces, but i got it eventually. (just flipping the Y rotation after the fact LOL)
