Never apologize for whining. If people don't care about your feelings, they can suck it. You are not a bad person. You do not harass Ryan or Gavin, and you do not aggressively suggest in any way that what you write is true. You do not put down their actual significant others. RL fic is always a little weird, but you acknowledge your works as fun fiction, and you do not make the people it's about uncomfortable.
