âAnte rule is something you brought up, so donât mind me claiming whatever card I want from your deck, hmm?â
Eagerly, knowing exactly what he wanted, he claimed the deck with a wide smirk and went through it. He had never seen that archetype before, strangely enough, but one of the cards that had been played simply called out to him in an almost surreal manner.
The counterpart to Constellar Pollux.
He simply needed to have it.
Had he been less taken by his quest to find this specific card, he may have been able to see that the moment his finger touched it to claim it, the other duelistâs lips turned into a grin that was decidedly unsettling before resuming their slackened, defeated shape.
âEvilswarm Castor~ Finally back where you belong, with your twin from the stars~â He was all but purring. âI feel I should almost thank you but.... naaaah. I won, you lost, seeya âround.â He places the deck back into the otherâs hand and snickers. âAnd a happy new year~ Year of the monkeyâs comin up. Sure suits you.â
âAnother one bites the dust~â Oh was he ever happy, strolling back to the dorm. Not only had he won a duel, he also was introduced to his first taste of that ante rule.
The moment Evilswarm Castor had been played on the field, it was as if nothing else existed beyond it on his opponentâs field or deck.
âKuhuhuhu~ Wait till I tell Jun about that--â
No. There would be nothing to tell.
His opponent? He had vanished, along with the rest of the deck.
Once Hokuto awoke, he wasnât sure of how he had gotten in the infirmary. From what he was told, he had been found by another student. Apparently there had been a duel involving them in an arena without any witnesses and some malfunction occurred. His opponent was still out cold on the bed next to his own.
That was odd. He did not recall dueling this person. Even when interrogated, he was unable to provide any details. His last memory was what he did the night before. Their basic scans did not reveal any brain trauma, so he could at least be reassured he was fine on the end, but he was worried about that memory loss.
It might just return to him later. There was nothing he could do about it, after all.
Hopefully they were going to look into that malfunction. During that time, this particular dueling area was locked.
