Cenotaph ā ChattrÄ« (ą¤ą¤¤ą„रą„)
Cenotaphs or chattrÄ« (ą¤ą¤¤ą„रą„) are funerary memorials dedicated to RÄjpÅ«ta kings, princes and chieftains of North West India. Common from the medieval times, these can often be seen near river or lake banks which served as cremation spots.
These are the chattrÄ«s in and around the GaįøhÄ«sÄr Lake near Jaisalmer.
Dates would probably range around the 18thĀ to first half of the 19thĀ Centuries CE
