â You look a stripper drag queen. â She was blunt and honest as she appraised the leather-clad superhero in front of her, his over-sized bell attracting her attention the most. Unfortunately for Chat, this wasnât any kind of veiled compliment hidden in confusing Australian slang. She shifted her posture slightly. â Not that looking like a kangaroo is any better but fair dinkum, at least Iâm ridgey didge. The whole cat thing is a bit overdone. â

â oh non, non, non. i donât care if your friends are watching, minou! you will let your maman give you a kiss. i wonât see you for hours, you know! â
Lila was an impulsive girlâ both with her words and her actions. A petty argument had turned rather nasty when both girlâs got in the otherâs personal space, and she had been about ready to start a fight when Adrien had managed to catch her attention for a moment. She had stormed out of the room not soon after, plopping herself down in a chair and practically pouting.Â
She still wanted to fight, too.
âI know, butâ!!âÂ
She lets out a huff of annoyance, emerald eyes briefly closing as she takes a deep breath to settle down once more. Fighting wouldnât solve anything, and Adrien was right. She was trying so hard to earn a second chance from her class, and she was going to throw all her progress away for something stupid like an argument?Â
Sheâs tense-- obviously still upset after everything that had happened.Â
She had just wanted to make a good impression. To be impressive. Everyone had to flocked her, the new student was always a great source for new gossip, especially when said student was a foreigner. And with the daughter of the mayor, and the son of a fashion icon in her midst, Lila was nothing. She couldnât possibly be what her classmates wanted.Â
She was just Lila. Nothing more.Â
Emerald briefly glance up at him, expression softening at the genuineness in his words. She wants to believe him-- he had been the only one she had truly cared about impressing, even if she had gone about it entirely wrong. But sheâs hesitant, gaze dropping to his hand with a certain sense of skepticism.
The use of italian shakes all worries-- a smile stretching across the girlâs expression before she nods and stands up, gently taking his hand.Â
âIâm Liliana-- Liliana Rossi. But everyone calls me
Lila. Iâm really sorry about everything, Adrien.â
Alya had called on her the moment that she had received the impromptu request for afternoon tea, included with the penmanship requesting the âkind introduction and presence of the young Miss Dupain, with whom you seem so acquainted with.â True, there had been no shortage to the curiosities surrounding the young new-money heiress, with proper social rules dictating the courtesy of not gossiping but nosiness would always be nosiness.Â
True, sheâd invited to tea on more than one occasion, though without the subtle encouragement of Alya (read: âMari if you donât come to tea with me Iâll never forgive you.â) she hadnât accepted any of them, relying on the disposable excuse of being entirely new to society to accept so many call-upons at once. But on Alyaâs word, sheâd be able to trust the company they were going to tea with, albeit it was a far few miles travel from the country estate the Bourgeois masquerade had been held in.
It was in with the closer Estates, the families which did not hold the same age and history of the ancient nobility of the land, though in the same line of success as her own family. New upper class, new money. Perhaps it wouldnât be as alienating as she had initially thought.  Â
The invitation had been on behalf of one Nino Bulle, for a small social gathering. He hadnât exactly mentioned that a small social gathering would consist of the two girls and his one best friend, though as the carriage that her father had sent them in approached his estate, Marinette pushed back the small curtain of the carriage window, watching their approach. Sheâd muted her attire much more today; it wasnât the time for fancy reds and spots. That had gotten her quite enough attention already.
The small key-wound pocket watch in her gloved hand told her they were right on time, though Marinette still cut Alya a nervous, subdued glance. Her friend relented quickly to the anxious glance, wrapping a hand around her shoulders as they pulled up the drive.
âDonât worry. Nino is a friendly host, heâll have no ill will in mind. Heâd just being kind and including you to a small setting rather than.. well, that ball.â Alya urged as the carriage pulled up to a closing stop, their arrival announced Marinette gave a little laugh, as confident as a freshly hatched bird spreading her wings before she moved towards the doorway.Â

8. My muse suddenly has a sprained ankle and canât walk.
While the material of her suit was sturdy, nearly invulnerable to all attacks, the body inside it was far from that. The transformation certainly granted more agility, stamina, and endurance, but her body could only take so much of a beating within the suit.
The possessed wrestler was much harder to take down than sheâd thought, even though he was fighting bare handed. Sheâd been careless, letting the man get too close before she could fly out of his reach on her weapon and sheâd paid for it. Ladybug had been ariborn only a brief moment before a steely grip caught hold of her leg and pulled her back down to the ground, hard. Not having released his grip, the man lifted the small heroine up easily, and she just knew he had every intention of throwing her around like a doll until she couldnât move.
   Yeah, that was gonna happen.
Tossing the yoyo aroud one of his legs, she yanked on the string and braced herself for the fall as she pulled her opponentâs leg out form under him. It had the desired effect, with a startled cry, the massive villain fell like a tree, throwing his arms out as he tried to regain his balance, and ultimately failing as he crashed to the ground.
But he still hadnât let go of her foot.
Not until he was beyond the point of recovery, did one of his flaing motions caused the hand gripping her ankle to twist it at a painfully unnatural angle before releasing the heroine altogether. Ladybugâs inital cry of pain was replaced with one of surprise as she was sent rolling across the gravel. She was disoriented, but she knew she had to get back on her feet before he did if she wanted to keep her momentum going.
But the moment she tried to put weight on her left foot, burning hot pain lanced through the limb, and she collapsed on the ground with a yelp of pain. She couldnât see the damage underneath her armor, but she was willing to bet that her ankle was at least sprained. Not good. She looked back towards the felled villian, but he was already back on his feet and charging towards her, a look of malicious glee on his face at his prone quarry.
He never reached Ladybug, though, a flash of silver from over her head shot out and hit Lutteur square in the chest and sent him flying backwards into a parked car with enough force to total it. She can fix that. Later.
âChat Noir!â She called in relief as he black clad partner finally came into her line of sight.
âSorry Iâm late, my lady,â he said, trademark grin missing as he took in her dishevaled state and the way her hand moved gentle circles on her injury in an attempt to soothe the pain. âWhat happened? Can you stand?â She shook her head.
âI think my ankleâs sprained,â she admitted. It wasnât like it was a secret she was practically immobile right now. âI was careless, I let him get to close andâbehind you!â He didnât need to be told twice, whipping around with his staff gripped tight in both hands and their opponent tried to bring his clasped fists down on Chatâs head. With Chat still kneeling on the ground, he had better support to make up for the strength difference Lutteur had over him.
Not letting the brief opportunity slip away, Ladybug once again wrapped her yoyo around the wrestlerâs leg to pull his legs out from under him. The tactic worked, and as soon as teh weight let up, Chat thrust his staff forward into the enemyâs stomach, once again sending him rolling across the ground. She didnât even have time to say anything before Chat was gathering Ladybug into his arms and taking off, leaping easily across cars and lower hanging balconies as he moved to get Ladybug to higer ground and away from the immediate danger. Not once did his grip on her falter.
When he finally set her down, on a nearby rooftop, she gave him a grateful smile. âThanks for showing up when you did. I was in a pretty tight spot.â
âI shouldâve been there sooner,â came the displeased reply, green eyes slitted and dangerous as he looked back in the direction they knew Lutter would be persuing them from at any time. She sighed, before resting a hand on his cheek and pulling his gaze back to her.
âAs far as Iâm concerned, you were there when I needed you most. Which is right on time.â She smiled gently when his expression softened. Satisfied, she continued âNow, Iâm pretty sure his akuma is in his belt buckleââ
âLeave it to me, my lady,â he said cutting her off and rising from his crouched position at her side and stretching, easy grin returning to his face. âSmash the buckle, bring the butterfly to you, dayâs saved and ankleâs fixed. Right?â
âNo, not right. Heâs too tough to take on alone. We need to use this time to come up with a plan.â
âYouâre already injured. You canât fight like this,â he insisted. Ladybug gave him a withering look.
âI may not be able to fight but we can still come up with a plan where I can help. Iâm injured, not an invalid.â Chat winced at the harsh tone, but still didnât seem entirely convinced. She knew sheâd only get in the way in a straight on fight, but she could still provide support. âNothing can go wrong from here on out as long as we work together,â she added. Maybe that was a lofty assumption, but she was still certain there wasnât anything they couldnât overcomeâwell, nothing that her Miraculous Cure couldnât amendâtwisted ankle or no.
âYou trust my judgement, right?â Ladybug asked.
âOf course,â Chat answered without hesitance.
âThen letâs figure out a proper way to win this fight, together.â Chat looked from her injured ankle, to the sound of Lutterâs rampage steadily making itâs way to them, and rested on Ladybugâs determined eyes. He sighed, but a smile was on his face as he nodded his agreement.
âAs you wish, my Lady. Whatâs the plan?â
âSalut, Adrien! So...I heard from the teleNino--uh, I mean the Nino vision--â Deep breaths, Marinette. She hated how her words always seemed to fail her around Adrien. âI...heard about the akuma attack at your house. I just wanted to make sure you and your dad were both fine after that fiasco?â
