lets preface this: im adopted. and let me tell you, it's hard finding adopted characters in media. especially relatable ones. ones whos stories feel like mine, or like other people in the adoptee community. and retris feels like he was really crafted with care. with the care to write a GOOD adoptee story and background. i love getting to look into not only his relationship with his adoptive parents, but his culture too, as a troll adopted by carapacians (very much appreciate the clear transracial adoption allegory as well). i was ecstatic seeing the picture frame on his desk. further ecstatic getting it confirmed that yes hes adopted. i dont have much critical thought or writing on it yet. id probably have to let it sit and cook in my head. but im just fucking happy man. i love sovstuck and i love retris and i love me some good fucking food for once
