While The World Opens Up...
Falling for someone while their life starts expanding in every direction is equal parts exciting and terrifying in the best way.
Watching opportunities find them, watching the world slowly open up in front of them, and knowing you get to stand beside them while it happens. Flights, stories, new cities, new memories — it’s exciting. It’s so exciting.
I think the only reason it feels this intense right now is because we haven’t figured out the rhythm of it yet.
We’re still in the stage where being close to someone suddenly rewires your brain a little bit, and now, for the first time, we have to figure out how to exist without their hand in ours while their life keeps opening up in bigger and bigger ways.
But I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I think it just means we care.
Eventually the feelings will settle — not in a sad way, in a safe way. In the way that love does when it stops feeling fragile and new, and starts feeling certain. The missing each other won’t disappear, but it’ll become woven into all the excitement instead of fighting against it.
And honestly? There’s something really romantic about loving someone while they chase the life they’ve dreamed about, and knowing they still want to come back to you after every new adventure.
