Finally! I found a little village of former China. Just aside the busy City center of Dongguan lays this little oasis.
A small treasure, well hidden and even on a Saturday not crowded at all. Its truely a labyrinth between the old houses, yards, little streams and gardens. Most of the parts are lovely renovated and changed into a museum, hotel, bars and restaurants. But this place is still very charming and it feels very original.
It´s called Chashan and famous for it´s Litchis, what will make me return in May.
Die lange Suche hat ein Ende. Endlich habe ich ein original chinesisches Dorf im alten Stil gefunden. Gleich neben dem geschäftigen Statzentrum Dongguans liegt diese kleine Oase.
Ein Schatzkästchen, gut versteckt und selbst an einem Samstag Nachmittag nicht wegen Überfüllung geschlossen. Ein echtes Labyrinth führt durch Häuser, Höfe, vorbei an kleinen Bächen und Gärten. Ein Grossteil ist so renoviert, dass man es nicht bemerkt und wurde zum teil in ein Hotel, ein Museum Bars und Restaurants verwandelt. Und trotzdem ist es hier wunderbar ruhig und original.
Der Ort heisst Chashan und ist berühmt für seine Litchis, wegen denen ich im Mai nochmal wiederkommen muss.
