Actually, lore is pretty clear the more I think about it. If you read the description for the spirit healer specialization specifically, it’s clearly a very rare school of magic - the only two “natural” spirit healers we’ve met have been possessed. As for the basic creation spells, I think in some of the books (The Calling, specifically?) such magic is more exhausting and saved for outside of combat.
I haven’t read much of DG’s books, so: neat, never knew that. :0
